Itinerary

Full day  ·  Pickup between 7:00 – 7:30 am, return between 5:30 – 6:00 pm. There's no formal schedule once you're with the elephants, so times below are approximate.

  1. 7:00 – 7:30 AM
    Hotel Pick-up
    • Pick up from your hotel or accommodation in Chiang Mai City
    • Drive approx. 2 hours to Doi Inthanon National Park, with a quick stop at a local market for coffee and snacks
  2. Morning
    Doi Inthanon National Park
    • Explore Wachirathan Waterfall
    • Visit the highest peak in Thailand
    • Explore the twin pagodas built in honor of the King (Rama 9) and Queen of Thailand
    • Visit a hill tribe market
  3. Midday
    Arrive at Chiangmai Elephant Home & Lunch
    • Change into a uniform provided for camp activities
    • Enjoy a buffet lunch of traditional Thai food and fresh fruit, with drinking water provided
    • Your guide explains the afternoon's activities and shares elephant history and behavior
  4. Afternoon
    Elephant Experience
    • Learn to make the elephants' vitamin balls and tamarind treats
    • Feed the elephants with a basket of vitamin balls, bananas, sugar cane and grasses
    • Observe, interact and play with the elephants in their natural home, with plenty of photo opportunities
    • Take a mud spa with the elephants (wear your swimming suit)
    • Walk down to the river to bathe and brush the elephants
  5. 5:30 – 6:00 PM
    Farewell & Return to Hotel
    • Say farewell to the elephants and your new friends at Chiangmai Elephant Home
    • Return to your hotel or accommodation in Chiang Mai City
